Registering Your Child
For the 2023 - 2024 school year, Mary Butterworth School is full in planned classes in Grades 7 to 9 in the regular program and Grades 7 to 9 in the Advanced Placement program. We will no longer be accepting students in the Academic Enrichment program. For the regular program, we will now only accept resident students for Grades 7 to 9 who have newly moved into the school’s attendance area.
A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.
If you are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online.
REGISTRATION FOR 2024-2025
Get ready for the 2024–25 school year! Sign in to your parent SchoolZone account between February 1 and March 22 to select your child’s preferred school for next year.
Whether your child is staying at the same school or changing schools, all students need to pre-enrol. Knowing how many students to expect helps schools prepare to welcome them in September.
If you need help, contact the school or read the 2024 EPSB Pre-enrolment handout.
Please read the 2024 LIVE IN ATTENDANCE AREA Pre-Enrollment the 2024 LIVE OUTSIDE ATTENDANCE AREA Pre-Enrollment handouts for important updates.

Principal's Message
Dear Mary Butterworth School Community,
Mary Butterworth School is a positive and caring school that values the relationships we have with our students, our families and our school community. We have high expectations of our students and challenge them to be the best they can be academically, physically, socially and emotionally.
As a staff team, we work collaboratively towards a common approach, and we are united in our commitment to ensure that our working and learning environment feels safe, welcoming, caring, and respectful. We are also committed to ensuring our students learn the critical skills and understandings necessary for leading a life of dignity and fulfillment.
Parents and guardians will receive information related to special school events, meetings, and other information via SchoolZone.epsb.ca. SchoolZone also gives families access to school information, progress reports, attendance information and specific classroom news. If you require a password for SchoolZone, or assistance with using it, please contact the office.
We look forward to working together with all of our MBS community this year!
Sincerely,
Brenda Mulder
